IETF 99 Wrap Up

26 Jul 2017

IETF Internet Area Director Suresh Krishnan provides a brief wrap up from IETF 99.

More than 1200 participants gathered in Prague for IETF 99, and nearly 500 individuals registered for remote participation. The IETF Hackathon preceding IETF 99 informed work during the meeting, and gathered more than 200 people--the most ever. Noted highlights during IETF 99 included work on:

  • TLS 1.3
  • QUIC
  • YANG
There were also several working groups that covered various aspects of the Internet of Things. In addition, work during the IETF Code Sprint helped improve the tools used by IETF participants as they develop the standards themselves. The next IETF meeting, IETF 100, will be held in Singapore on 11-17 November 2017.

For all the details, watch Suresh's summary.
